6 reminders if you’re questioning your calling
When I was first consciously* showing up on my path of purpose, I felt both inspired and confused.
*I say “consciously” here, because your entire life is your path of purpose, but there’s a threshold you cross where you become consciously aware that you are here for a bigger mission, you say yes to it, and you begin the process of becoming the person who can fulfill that calling.
I had this deep feeling that I was here for something more than the traumatic loops and chronic limitation I had been living in.
I wanted to translate the love I felt in my heart for the world into a tangible offering.
I felt a magnetic pull inside me, summoning me toward a life of expansion and possibility.
But on a tangible level, I didn’t understand what my purpose was: How would my gifts translate into service? What were my gifts?? What was I really meant to be doing? What would happen next?
Ohhh the many notebooks I went through journaling about these questions over and over.
Eventually, after sifting through tons of watered down “find your purpose” advice on the internet, doing a lot of inner work to alchemize my fears, learning how to reconnect with my soul’s wisdom, and taking inspired action before it made sense…
I landed in the place of certainty from which I now operate.
I am now clear on my unique divine assignments, I am ALL IN on giving my gifts and co-creating with God, and I've helped hundreds of people embrace their unique callings as well.
If you’re on the “before” side of this story – knowing you're here for something big but not sure what that something is – I want you to know that you WILL figure it out, if you don’t give up.
And eventually, your journey of discovering your calling will be part of the message and medicine you share with the world.
To support your process, I wrote you six reminders to help you go from confused to clear on your path of purpose. May these serve you well!
1. Remember: Your highest contribution to the world is your frequency – the energy with which you are operating.
How you do the work is the work. If you are consciously cultivating love, peace, courage, and a connection to infinite possibility within yourself, you are already fulfilling your core purpose.
A huge part of your soul’s mission is to personally free yourself from fear-based conditioning, which makes the path clearer for others as well. Give yourself credit for the work you are already doing.
2. The clarity you crave is right in front of you. You just need to learn how to interpret it.
You are already receiving an immense amount of data from your life about who it is you are here to be and what you are here to do, you may just not be perceiving it that way.
Your entire life is mirroring back to you what inspires you, what pains you, what intrigues you, and what you have a unique fascination with or deep desire to experience. All of these are clues to your overall purpose and current mission. (And I'll teach you how to turn these clues into a plan in my upcoming workshop Clarify Your Calling.)
So, why might you be NOT perceiving and applying the information that's available to you? Read on for some "ah ha" moments...
3. The idea that you “just don’t know what to do” is a story that you may be (subconsciously) using to keep yourself safe.
If you’re reading this and thinking, “No, I really do want to move forward, I just don’t know what to do!” – Ask yourself:
What part of me is benefitting from me staying stuck? What part of me would actually be relieved if I stayed exactly where I am?
This inquiry will reveal to you the aspect of you who feels like shining your light / embracing your power / taking risks / doing something new is scary and unsafe. For this version of you, confusion is a strategy for keeping you safe.
Before you go try to obliterate this aspect of you, remember that it’s likely a younger version of you who was traumatically programmed to believe that it was not safe to be yourself.
This part needs love, encouragement, and support seeing that a new story is possible. Not judgment and blame. (I’ll teach you how to do this in Clarify Your Calling.)
4. Your greatest wounding is usually connected to your greatest gifts.
Many people who are destined to be wayshowers / visionaries / teachers / creators of a new paradigm inherited generational trauma and experienced social/familial conditioning that directly affects their perception of their gifts.
It’s like a cheetah incarnating into a family where running fast and being iconically powerful led to extremely negative consequences in the past, and so now this cheetah is scared to move faster.
It still has the inherent capacity to be who it really is, if it can overcome the stronghold of fear.
(Spoiler alert: you can. It’s literally why you’re here in this life.)
Here are a few more examples of the relationship between your wounds and your gifts:
If you are here to express powerful messages, you may feel scared to speak up.
If you are here to be a prophetic oracle, you may have been shamed for your sensitivity and gaslit about what you were seeing as a kid.
If you are here to make world-changing art, you may have early experiences of being told you were “too much” or a family that believes that art is not a viable career path.
The trick here is to flip your doubts and see them as confirmation of your purpose, not as evidence that your dreams are not possible. (I’ll show you exactly how to do this in Clarify Your Calling.)
5. Your destiny path is not an A to Z set of instructions. It is a mystical journey that unfolds in unexpected ways and teaches you how to walk by faith and not by sight.
Your mind cannot see the entire plan of how you will bring your dreams to life, and who you will become in the process, so it may be telling you that you “don’t know what to do.”
However, upon closer examination, you may see that there are actually MANY next right actions being shown to you. You may just be writing them off as not enough or as not making logical sense.
This is the equivalent of saying that the next instruction your GPS is giving you isn't correct or sufficient, because you can't physically see the rest of the route from where you sit.
Living primarily from the mind is an old paradigm operating system, and part of your mission is to decondition from that programming and to learn to live a divinely guided life.
You are here to learn how to co-create with God, which inherently requires going beyond the seen and the predictable, and learning how to operate in the realm of miracles, like all visionaries and leaders.
6. You came here for this, and now is the time!
Your soul made a plan for this life, and now you’re living it.
Not everyone finds themselves thinking constantly about fulfilling their true purpose.
If you can’t shake the sense that you're here for more, keep leaning into that feeling.
“Live the questions,” as Rilke said. Keep stating your intention to be given an answer, keep asking to be shown what you’re not seeing, and keep being willing to take uncomfortable, messy, determined action in the direction of your dreams.
Bonus reminder: If you previously felt crystal clear on your mission, and are now feeling murky / uncertain / confused about what's next, CONGRATS. You are graduating to a new level. What was once aligned is shifting.
You’re being divinely reassigned, for your highest good, and for the highest good of all. You’re an ego death and a rebirth away from your next era of feeling dialed in on your purpose, satisfied on a soul level with your contribution, and amazed by the miracles God is creating through you. Keep going.
When I look back on my own journey to clarify my purpose, I can now see that:
1. I was always on my path (every moment counts, every experience is data collection for your future contribution, nothing is wasted).
2. My life was constantly reflecting to me my gifts, dreams, passions, and divine assignments, but my internalized fear and lack of belief in myself and God kept me from taking these seriously.
3. My capacity to perceive my calling expanded the more I did the inner healing work to stop seeing myself through the eyes of fear and to reconnect with my soul’s power and plan for my life.
In Clarify Your Calling (on August 21) I'm going to take you through the exact processes that helped me finally get clear, stop doubting, and start LIVING, leading, and contributing. I've also used these tools to help hundreds of people do the same. It's your turn!
It's time to ditch the "I don't know what my purpose is" story, embrace your divine gifts, and start sharing your contribution in a way that nourishes you and the world.

Btw, we moved the workshop back two weeks to August 21. God bless Mercury Retrograde requiring adaptability and extra spaciousness.
August 21 is also my sobriety date, which kicked off my ALL IN ON MY MISSION era. Teaching the class that my younger self needed back then feels like a perfect way to celebrate.
If you read this whole post, email me and let me know: What perspective shift helped you the most? What are you aware of now that you weren't before? What questions do you still have about your purpose / mission / calling? I read every reply.
Big love,
Aaron
P.S. In the two weeks leading up to the workshop, I also have a limited number of Mission Clarity Sessions available. If you want my 1:1 support in clarifying your current mission and your next steps, click here to schedule a session. Your session purchase includes free access to the workshop :)
